Infrequently Asked Questions

We figured next to everybody on the Web already has a FAQ list of some sort or another, so we were going to do just the opposite. Besides, if you're a real fan, you already know all the FAQs, man.

Q: Has anyone ever made a song that has more synonyms for having sex than "Sledgehammer"? (Angelique)

A: Yes, but the song is so risque, that we can't print the lyrics here.

Q: What is PG's shoe size? (Question contributed by Ken. B. and S. Brennan)

A: According to this page, we'd have to say he wears a five by seven pixel shoe. If you haven't seen him in concert before, that picture is actual size. Most people don't realize that tv makes rock stars look a lot bigger than they really are.

Q: What PG album does "In the House of Stone and Light" appear on?

A: It doesn't. It's not PG...it's Martin Page. Numerous people seem to think that Page sounds a lot like Gabriel. There is a reason for the similarity...Page himself thanks Peter Gabriel, Anne Parsons (PG's assistant) and WOMAD in the liner notes to the album In the House of Stone and Light, probably as influences. And PG fans Robbie Robertson and Phil Collins appear on the album. Although most of us here don't think "In the House of Stone and Light" sounds anything like PG, another Page song, "Monkey in My Dreams" makes us wonder why Page didn't just go ahead and do a cover of "Shock the Monkey" and have it over with. BTW...The Solsbury Hill Statistics Committee found that 25% of Hill members think Page sounds like Gabriel. The other 75% think the 25% are nuts.

Q: Why did PG used to wear all of those weird masks and costumes on stage when he was performing with Genesis?

A: If you had to go onstage with Phil Collins, you'd want to wear a disguise too. (We're sorry. We just couldn't resist.)

Q: How did they do all of those special effects in the "Sledgehammer" video?

A: Special effects? What special effects? You mean to say that all that didn't just happen?

Q: What's the frequency, Kenneth?

A: No, no, no...you must be looking for the R.E.M. homepage.

Q: What is that green lollipop on the left side of your old Solsbury Hill graphic supposed to symbolize?

A: For the billionth time! It's not a lollipop! It's a tree! A tree!

Q: How do you function as a group to put out this homepage?

A: Well, there's 51 of us, and each member is assigned a keyboard key. After a group meeting where we decide what we want to say, we gather around the keyboard and we collectively type the articles in. Then we have our Editor edit it, and then we send it out to you, the home viewer.

Q: I'm having trouble getting Xplora 1 to work on my PC. Any suggestions?

A: Yes. Buy a Mac.
