Favorite collaboration: hush, hush, hush with Paula Cole

Favorite pastime between album releases: Watching "X-Files", reading tons of paper- backs, painting, translating PG-songs into german (Hurry up Pete, I'm running out of material)
Best "Idea" for a collaboration: Cher - That could be so erotic....
I think the new album title should be: DO
Comments: Pete gave me so much with his music, I wish I could give anyone so much!

Favorite Album
"So" - I think it's the album that most successfully runs the gamut of PG's music from dark to playful and everything in-between. I only wish it was longer. It probably helps that it came out during a very happy part of my life...

Favorite Song
"Solsbury Hill" (no, I'm not trying to kiss up to the Committee) I figure this has to be my favorite, because it is going to be my last request - as in having it played at my funeral. Don't panic and call the police - I'm not suicidal nor even moribund - I just think that it's the loveliest song I know about ascending to a higher level. Hopefully, it won't have to be played for several decades - who knows, maybe PG will top it on the next album - which may or may not be out in several decades...

Favorite Gabriel-Era Genesis Album
"The Lamb..." It's the most PG-esque of the Genesis albums. It's also probably the most frustrating of PG's albums for me as well - I've spent too much time trying to put this album together like a jigsaw puzzle. Sure, it makes me think - but since getting out of college ten years ago, I don't have time to think, so I've drifted away from Art Rock in general. I prefer his solo albums, which can be analyzed and enjoyed on a more song-by-song basis.

Least Favorite Song
"Bashi Bazouk" I once put this on an excercise tape and it really hurt my ears while on the Stairmaster. Frankly, I think it's a leftover from "Passion" and was left off of that album for a very good reason...

Favorite Music Video
"I Don't Remember" - It's dark, it's foreboding - it kicks ass! Hell, PG's almost an action hero in this one! Not to mention it taps into one of Modern Man's most dreadest fears, the Killer Sofa. Admit it, that first night after you lifted up the cushions on your parents' sofa and discovered change, pretzels, and that one odd "Old Maid" card that you gave up on, you knew that the sofa would sooner or later get you as well. Sure, I love "Sledgehammer" as much as the next guy - but it was "I Don't Remember" that made me want to paint my face black and white, put on an Ed Norton hat, and go around shooting blow-darts at people. Not that I've ever done such a thing....

Favorite Tour
"Secret World" - sure, there was no stage dive - but he more than made up for this with all the other bells and whistles. Besides, I was never in the stage-diving seats, so if he did dive, I would just be jealous...

Favorite CD ROM
Have to abstain on this one - I still don't have "Eve." Hope to rectify that situation shortly....

Best Hair Era
Mid-80s. He had hair, he had a nice conservative haircut - it looked good. I do sympathize with his current situation, however. Now I know what he meant by a "number one" haircut, having recently obtained a "number two" haircut myself. Though I frankly think he should go with a "number two" himself, since the chrome dome makes him look a little... goofy. I mean, realistically, the chrome dome should be reserved for guys who look intimidating in it - like Tony Levin or Bruce Willis - PG just doesn't fit the bill. Nor does Billy Corgan, but at least PG doesn't sing in a whining Lucille Ball voice...

Favorite Album Cover
That's a no-brainer. PGIII.

Favorite Non-Album Song
I think "Curtains" though I'm not certain because I have it on vinyl and haven't had a record player in years. I don't remember much about the song other than that it moved me and was definately good enough to be on "So" - my gut instinct tells me that it was probably the song vying for the "Milgram's 37" slot on that album - but the album wasn't big enough for the both of them...like I said, it should have been longer.

Favorite Collaboration
"Here Comes the Flood" w/Fripp - our first glimpse into how PG actually WANTED the song done as opposed to Ezrin's over-production.

>Favorite Non-Gabriellian Artist
Midnight Oil. Yes, I saw them together at WOMAD. MO actually went on after PG, which was appropriate because they are the only artist that can rival PG live - in fact, they beat PG (as well as bands 20 years younger) as far as sheer live power. Of course, at WOMAD PG was stripped of the elaborate stage show of "Secret World" which is a large part of the joy of a PG show. I enjoyed PG at WOMAD, but without the trappings of "Secret World," it was like watching Bruce Wayne perform when I was used to seeing Batman.

Favorite Pastime Between Album Releases
Perverting PG's good name into a word synonymous with "slow," "sluggish," or "slothful," as in "Yes, I liked the dialogue in that movie, but the pace was rather Gabrielesque" or "Traffic approaching the accident is crawling at a Gabriel pace." OK, real answer (of the moment) is "hiking."

Best *Idea* For a Collaboration
Bjork - she's dark, she's twisted - I think her odd vocals would play well off of PG.

I Think the New Album Title Should Be...
"Mu" - as in "The Lost Continent of...." If you don't believe me, search the net and you'll probably find something. Anyway, it's a sprawling 3-CD concept album that follows the journeys of our hero, Raul, who is sucked into Mu to undergo a spirtitual and psychological journey.. It'll be nothing like PG's ever done before. The second CD is nothing but Brian Eno's noodlings on the Moog and the Casio - it's called "Out of the Waiting Room, into the Examining Room and I'm Still Waiting for the Doctor but at Least There's a Recent Copy of 'People' to Read." The first CD will consist of all the individual cuts PG has done on other albums between "Us" and the present. The third CD's content is secret, but let's just say that this is the disk that earns the album the "Parental Advisory" label.
