a short report
by Alain Pita
6pm: Peter, Tracy, Bruce and Youssou are on stage and sing
'Get Up Stand Up'!![]()
Peter is very like I saw him recently on the Net : no hair!! [At the concert] He spoke perfect French.
After the Bruce Springsteen and Tracy Chapman shows, the stage is prepared and I'm sure to see David Rhodes playing with a..guitar! Yes, that's him. And who is behind the drums?? Monsieur Manu Katche! and behind the keyboards? Jean-Claude from the band Kassav (as on the Secret World Live).
It is 8:30pm now, Peter is on stage with his piano and starts to sing: Red Rain, a version quite different from 'So' of course and many mistakes in the lyrics (that's Peter, for sure).
Then, he says: A new song called "Signal to Noise'!! That's a great moment. The song is really magic. A strong and slow pattern, I really love the way David plays guitar on this song. Youssou 'replaces'Nusrat on backing vocals and it works, even if the great Qawwali voice is missing.
This is just another good reason to repeat : UP NOW!!
After this magic moment, Peter starts : in Your Eyes with Youssou. A very good version of the song with the same choregraphy as on the So Tour with a very enthusiastic audience.
After that? Peter and musicians leave the stage. Bye bye Peter? No, he will come back 3 hours later to sing with Youssou on 'Shaking the Tree' and a very beautiful version of '"7 Seconds" with Youssou, Tracy and the female singer of the band Kassav.
This is the end beautiful friends. The concert ends at 1:45am.

Raise your hand if you're totally awesome. Thank you.

Au revoir dear Solsburians and Merry Christmas.
