ALBUM:PG III - for "Biko" alone.
SONG:Its between "Biko", "Wallflower" and "Family Snapshot"
GENESIS ERA ALBUM: "The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway"
LEAST FAVORITE SONG:"Exposure" but that was mainly Eno's fault wasn't it.
VIDEO: "Shock the Monkey"

CD-ROM: EVE-- I don't know anything about these things.
HAIR ERA: I'm too old to worry about that any more.
ALBUM COVER: PG I looks good but PG III still wins it for me
NON G ARTIST: Tori Amos or Kate Bush
COLLABORATION: The One World Album.
PASTIME BETWEEN RELEASES: Following Shelbourne FC, playing pool for the supporter's team (I'm their Captain!), drinking, reading anything on the WWII, watching my kids grow up.
IDEA FOR COLLABORATION: Some more stuff with Robbie Robertson - I thought they sounded great together.
NEW ALBUM TITLE: peter gabriel

Favorite Album: I can only choose one? So was the album that really
introduced me to his genius. But, I would have to say the emotion and
just sheer heart-wrentching songs of Us, make it my favorite.
Favorite Song: Come Talk to Me
Favorite Gabriel-Era Genesis Album: The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway
Least Favorite Song: don't have one
Favorite Music Video: Unfortunately, where I live they don't show PG's
genius on tv, so I haven't seen any but Sledgehammer
Favorite Tour: Secret World
Favorite CD ROM: I only have EVE, so that wins by default
Best Hair Era: 1992, when he was on the cover of PAPER magazine. Absolute
perfection
Favorite Album Cover: Passion
Favorite Non-Album Song: I Grieve. It made me cry the first time I head it.
Favorite Collaboration: Paula Cole. She may not have the best voice in
the world, but she and PG blended so well together on the Secret World
Tour
Favorite Non-Gabriellian Artist: The Tragically Hip, Dave Matthews
Favorite Pastime Between Album Releases: Reading lots of books for my
English degree. Working on my book.
Best *Idea* For a Collaboration: I think he should ask me to sing back up
for him!!
I Think the New Album Title Should Be... About Time..
Comments: PG has been such an inspiration for so many people, me being
one of them. I can't believe how his creativity just keeps going and
going. He's the rare talent that doesn't get the full recognition he
deserves.

Comments: I am going to give comments before my survey. Seeing as I am
on the 21st page I don't think anyone is reading anymore anyway. I am an
old time die hard PG fan he thinks he is the closest think to divinity.
I've seen every solo tour except the 3rd (went to California and sold
my ticket to his show in NY to a friend) and US (I don't know how I
missed that one). All my answers will be long-winded.
Favourite Album: Extremely tough choice. I'll go with a tie between his
first solo effort and US. The first one because of it's incredible
staying power over time and US because it packs a special emotional
punch. But all the albums are awesome including the second, which I see
way too many people panning on PG web sites.

Favourite Song: Totally impossible to answer. I tried narrowing it down
to a couple per album and then working from there but there are so many
great songs. I'll say Moribund the Burgermeister because it sets the
tone for the first album. It also used to be an excellent song at live
performances (2nd song on Pete's first two solo tours a the shows I went
to). But my runner-ups are:
Digging in the Dirt
Wallflower (if you don't think so re-listen to this gem LOUD)
I Don't Remember
Secret World
Mother of Violence
Mercy Street
Family Snapshot
I Have the Touch
And of course Solsbury Hill

Favourite Gabriel-Era Genesis Album: Again, they are all great, but
let's just go with the Lamb. Foxtrot is right behind on the strength of
Supper's Ready alone.

Least Favourite Song: No such thing. I am bewildered at how many so
called PG fans had answers to this. I'm totally appalled that so many
people even offered lame excuses for their picks. So I have some
comments for some of you.
If you chose San Jacinto (which should be on my runner-ups list above).
You have obviously never seen this song performed live. You also don't
have any appreciation for the mental imagery that PG can transcend (this
song being one of the greatest examples of a picture drawn in music and
verse ever).
If you chose Excuse Me you just have no sense of humour and while it is
obvious you also never saw this done live, that doesn't even matter. The
first part of the answer covers you.
If you chose Waiting for the Big One you just have no feel of the blues
or good guitar work.

Favourite Music Video: I always liked Digging in the Dirt

Favourite Tour: They are all so good. I will put a tie between the first
and the Security (4th) tour. The first because it was Pete's first,
Robert Fripp and Steve Hunter were the two guitarists and Back in NYC
was the encore (at least at the Palladium in NYC). The 4th because that
tour brought that album to life for me. If you were a PG fan when that
album first came out you may remember how different it seemed the first
time you heard it. It was a good different (typical of Pete) all cool
sounds and textures. That tour was so awesome and it gave me a new ear
for that album. If there are any newbies out there, all I can say is if
you buy Security, play it loud because otherwise you miss a lot of the
depth and breadth of what is going on in those songs. Both these tours
also offered the opportunity to see Pete in small venues where he
created this sense of intimacy that can be lost with arena shows. From
what I can tell of Secret World from the VHS it was an awesome tour and
I really don't know how I missed it. But the tour for So, although it
was a great show, did not hold the same intimacy that the earlier shows
in small venues held. For one thing I wasn't very close to the stage as
I always had been before.

Favourite CD ROM: Don't have either and can't find them in my record
stores (online shopping here we come).

Best Hair Era: Aside from the Foxtrot era, I'll say the So style.

Favourite Album Cover: The 2nd (scratch)

Favourite Non-Album Song: Walk Through the Fire

Favourite Collaboration: He makes everyone who plays with him better. I
still enjoy Fripp/Gabriel collaborations.

Favourite Non-Gabriellian Artist: Dave Matthews, another artist who has
no bad songs and has a way of conjuring emotions and memories for me.

Favourite Pastime Between Album Releases: Playing Baseball, listening to
music (all kinds but especially PG)

Best *Idea* For a Collaboration: Dave Matthews

I Think the New Album Title Should Be...Worth the Wait (I can't stand
waiting, but the albums are usually worth it.

Comments: If anyone wants to comment on my comments feel free to e-mail
me at jazmo2@aol.com. I understand some feeble minded people will use
that opportunity to try and take potshots but you won't bother me. I
hope that some real PG fans will use it to discuss things related to
Pete or Genesis and we can share some good memories of live shows or
what songs mean to us.

13 Robert Rakoczy

Favorite Album: US or Passion

Favorite Song: Mercy Street (the first song I heard
and song that made me fall in love with peter)

Favorite Gabriel-Era Genesis Album: The Lamb

Least Favorite Song: Bashi Bakouk and Have A Wonderful
Day in Our One Way World (sorry Sharon Rose :-)

Favorite Music Video: Digging in the Dirt

Favorite Tour: I was about 11 last time he came
around. became a fan a year later. Too bad.

Favorite CD ROM: EVE is the most amazing multimedia
thing i have EVER experienced in my life. It is just
so rich and deep. You could play this with the monitor
off and just listen and it is still powerful. And on
the other end you can play with the sound off and just
watch the rich, lush, earthy graphics for days.
(though we wouldn't wanna turn off PG's music.)

Best Hair Era: So..though I am appreciating the bald
thing

Favorite Album Cover: I love the cover of the
international release of OVO. (even if the pic is from
EVE)

Favorite Non-Album Song: Lovetown. No question.

Favorite Collaboration: Fripp and Gabriel doing Here
Comes the Flood

Favorite Non-Gabriellian Artist: Dave Matthews and
Joseph Arthur

Favorite Pastime Between Album Releases: Most of it is
spent frozen in a cryogenic chamber so time seems to
pass much faster than normal.

Best *Idea* For a Collaboration: I'll let him pick

printed and his album out even faster.
