Favorite Album--I was introduced by So, but currently US has taken the lead.
Favorite Song--Oh man. Ummm.....Party Man is my current favorite, but I always come back to
Sledgehammer.
Favorite Gabriel-Era Genesis Album--This is an era I'm just beginning to explore. I'll get back to you.
Least Favorite Song--"Excellent Birds...watch them fly" It just get on my nerves, and I don't
know why.
Favorite Music Video--Does the one for OVO count?
Favorite Tour--If only I could go on one. Sigh.
Favorite CD ROM--Does the one for OVO count, yet again? It's the only one I've gotten my
hands on.
Best Hair Era--So era. Good, natural hair. Peter can make a statment with his music, he
doesn't need to go to hairdo extremes.
Favorite Album Cover--Shaking the Tree. Simple and elegant.
Favorite Non-Album Song--Big, big toss up. Either Party Man or While the Earth Sleeps. (Funny, both
from cyberpunk movies, one good, one bad. You decide.)
Favorite Collaboration--Gotta go with Bob. The world isn't the same without him.
Favorite Non-Gabriellian Artist--Dave Matthews Band is my official favorite, but Bela Fleck and the
Flecktones rank up there. The list goes on and on.
Favorite Pastime Between Album Releases--Trying to escape this wretched World Wide Web.
Best *Idea* For a Collaboration--Lisa Gerrard. Think about it for a moment folks....if anyone is Peter's
soulmate, this is the gal.
I Think the New Album Title Should Be...As OVO proves, with the year 2000 comes a new era of titles. So I vote for
NOW as the next title.
Comments: Music is a medium of the divine. So, in a way, Peter is an oracle himself. And I'm listening.

Favourite Album: PASSION! Gabriel at his best! Then again, when isn't he?
Favourite Song: This is a hard one! I'd have to say "The Feeling Begins". It's funky, sexy, exotic, and oh yeah, it rocks!
Favourite Gabriel-Era Genesis Album: FOXTROT!
Least Favourite Song: Animal Magic. Sorry Peter! They made me do it!
Favourite Music Video: Steam! I find it hard to believe that PG never experimented with LSD!
Favourite Tour: Secret World Tour.
Favourite CD-Rom: Don't own any.
Best Hair Era: 1971-1974!
Favourite Album Cover: PG III! The melting face thing is timeless. It's spooky, creative, and demonstrates PG's visual brilliance. I've seen some great album covers in my time, but this one takes the cake.
Favourite Non-Album Song: Taboo.
Favourite Collaboration: Shankar and Daniel Lanois. Also, with William Orbit, namely on the "Mercy Street", and "Kiss That Frog" remixes. Favourite Non-Gabriellian Artist: Eric Clapton. PG he is not, but he too is a genius in his own right!
Favourite Pastime Between Album Releases: Constantly checking for info on PG and UP. Also, collecting PG bootlegs and rarities.
Best "Idea" For A Collaboration: PG and U2. PG and Radiohead would be pretty cool too. How about PG and Moby? All of these artists have certain Gabrielesque qualities and textures.
I Think The New Album Title Should Be : Remember Me?
Comments: First, I would like to say that Solsbury Hill is by far the best PG site on the web. Also, I have some great inside news regarding UP! My friend is a manager in the music industry, and this is what I've heard from him, regarding the new album. Back in 1998, he told me that PG was really struggling with the new album. At that point, my friend was asked to manage PG for a year to help him speed things up. PG does not want a manager as he insists on managing himself. The reasons for the delay are as follows; PG is extremely slow (we all knew that), he's a perfectionist (we all knew that too), and he is very insecure. What? Yep! PG is human after all. Regardless, this past October, my friend informed me that someone was going to Real World to mix PG's album which WILL be out by spring 2001, possibly followed by another album. Also, I've heard that it WILL definately be worth the wait! I hope this news can make everyone sleep a little better now.
Cheers!

Favorite Album: Peter Gabriel Plays Live. He sounds desperate...."please
buy my albums.....I'm singin' my heart out!"
Favorite Song: Washing of the Water/I Go Swimming (even though my wife hates
this one because she says it isn't up to par...my kids and I like to dance to
it....what about an "extended dance mix" on the next album? Just a
suggestion..don't let it slow you down, Pete!
Favorite Gabriel-Era Genesis Album: None. It was a waste of several good
years. Die, Phil Die! [A man after our own hearts--signed, Solsbury Committee]
Least Favorite Song: Excellent Birds. (Who was that nut? Hurry up and
finish the song, and get this woman out of here!)
Favorite Music Video: A toss-up between Steam and Big Time. I like the
*pimp* outfit! :)
Favorite Tour: Secret World Live. Does Paula shave her armpits? I think
not. But Pete looks like he's having fun.... and nice boots on Paula!
Favorite CD ROM: XPlora 1 which we just got off eBay....a lot of fun, but we
haven''t filled the "suitcase" yet...
Best Hair Era: I still say the "Flock of Seagullls" 80's do.....a nice
feathered look, which hid the receding hairline???
Best Album Cover: Us. Is that a tornado or a woman?? It's amazing what you
don't see till you know it's there....
Best Non-Album Song: I Grieve......'cuz you can dance to it!
Best Collaboration: Red Rain with Natialie Merchant and Michael Stipe on the
VHS Honors....
Favorite Non-Gabriellian Artist: Although I know this will be an unpopular
answer for our survey "hostess", I have to say Bono, because that's who my
wife *really* likes....yeah, right. :) Actually the real answer would be
John Lennon.
Favorite Past-Time Between Albums: Listening to Peter's "make-out" music as
often as possible, planning a vacation to coincide with the "UP" tour, if and
when that happens...
Best Ideas for a Collaboration: Randy Newman...something bluesy and fun,
although not quite as long as "Waiting for the Big One"!
I Think The Title of the New Album Should Be: HA! (I Can't Believe You
Waited This Long!!)
Comments: Next, the survey should be opened up to children---as soon as our
four year olds learn how to type! (I understand that my wife has accepted a
cabinet post....perhaps I could also serve in some way...the Minister of
Dance, perhaps?

Favorite Album: Passion. A new era beginning... and a whole world opening for me. I had always been attracted to "true" world music, but this one approach, and the following arrival of the Real World Records company is the best thing Peter has brought us so far.
Favorite Song: Mother of Violence... even though PG2 is my least favorite album. The tone, the rhythm, the words send me shivers. Oh fear, fear, she's a mother of violence. Even though the exact lyrics do not exactly fit, i guess the message is still good to hear. If only people could come to understand each other, stop to blame the others and begin to appreciate the difference, not to fear it, they would not want to fight it over, to impose their self-righteous thoughts onto others. Well, as a famous someone said, "I had a dream..." which is sadly still a dream.
Favorite Gabriel-Era Genesis Album: Selling England by the pound... I know what I like! Though the Lamb is a close second. I cannot explain what.
Least Favorite Song: flotsam and jetsam. I can hardly listen to this one as a background tune when I'm working on a project. I generally put on an mp3 home-made compilation of all the albums on, and I try to skip it, yet I find it hard to reject any PG song at all, so I had to choose. Flotsam and jetsam was the reluctant winner, I'm afraid.
Favorite Music Video: Zaar. Beautiful. The blend between music and animation is perfect.
Favorite Tour: I did not have any luck with tours, for Peter always had to show up in France whenever I had very important exams. The only tour I could attend to was "Secret World"... And the only exam I failed was on the same year. It's a Strange Coincidence, isn't it ? "So" tour would have otherwise been my favorite, since I was a over-reactive teen at the time (13 or 14 y.o.). As for Secret World, if only that man before us (my sister in law, brother, cousin, uncle and I) could have stopped singing loudly and out of tune, it would have been perfect.
Favorite CD ROM: EVE. The first "non game" CD ROM I have bought and enjoyed playing with...
Best Hair Era : "Me and My Teddy Bear, we have no hair, but we don't care", and neither do I (care or have hair ;-)
Favorite Album Cover: as far as Album covers go, it would be the blurred PG3 cover. As a kid, my elder brother was a genesis and PG fan, and I always tried to figure out what the image was composed of, liked little girly feet running across a street, cover with oily water, and so on. It evokes images and thoughts and ideas, so it is the best one. Now that I read English and try to understand the lyrics, I've also figured out that some of the texts can be linked to both sides of the cover (I of course, own the cd while my brother Pascal has the vinyl version). It's still amazing to me.
Favorite Non-Album Song: don't break this rhythm. The theme and the rhythm itself are the reasons.
Favorite Collaboration: wow there's a hard one. it would have to be Kate Bush for "Another Day and later "Don't give up". Both deal with family problems, and the support one can receive from his loved ones.
Favorite Non-Gabriellian Artist: Kate Bush, that's clear. Her qualities (and flaws, from a fan point of view) are extraordinarily linked, similar yet somewhat different (because she's a sensual woman, sensual meaning who lets herself guided by her feelings and senses, rather than by her intellect, which is a proof of wisdom)
Favorite Pastime Between Album Releases: growing up ? reading sci-fi, getting to know other artists (yes there are some who have never played with PG, ever !), teaching math and computer sciences, engineering a better world for those children who have lost their family...
Best *Idea* For a Collaboration: PG and Kate Bush appearing on each other's new album ...
I Think the New Album Title Should Be... "Er" subtitled "was anyone waiting for me ?"·
Comments: wow, choosing can be hard. I would have liked to cite more titles or people...

Favorite Album: Right now? Peter Gabriel i.e. Album Three i.e. Melt.
Favorite Song: I have no choice but to go by album. #1 - "Solsbury Hill." #2
- "D.I.Y." #3: "Not One of Us." Security: "The Rhythm of the Heat." So: tie
between "In Your Eyes" and "Excellent Birds." Us: "Digging in the Dirt." OVO:
"Downside-Up."
Favorite Gabriel-Era Genesis Album: Lamb. Consistently, 100% excellent.
Least Favorite Song: "The Story of OVO." I really, really dislike that rap.
The chorus is alright, but the rap is so trite.
Favorite Music Video: "Sledgehammer."
Favorite Tour: Never seem him live, but I love the out-of-print "POV" video
from the So tour, and I totally dig "Secret World Live." The extended "In
Your Eyes" is bliss.
Favorite CD-ROM: Eve.
Best Hair Era: Us-era, all the way. Although he doesn't look BAD with the
bald head.
Favorite Album Cover: Melt.
Favorite Non-Album Song: I really like the shorter, different mix (NOT the
remix) of "Tower that Ate People" on the Red Planet sdtrk.
Favorite Collaboration: Laurie Anderson. By far. She and PG are two of my
childhood idols.
Favorite Non-Gabrellian Artist: They Might Be Giants, Radiohead, Modest
Mouse, Laurie Anderson, Stereolab, Soul Coughing... it really just goes on
and on.
Favorite Pastime Between Album Releases: Surviving my adolescence.
Best *Idea* For A Collaboration: PG and David Byrne. Has that ever happened?
It would be amazing.
I Think The New Album Title Should Be...: Peter Gabriel Makes Grown Men Cry,
as suggested by Tony Berg years ago. [Solsbury Editor's note: We think this title is sexist.
We think grown women should be acknowledged for crying during Gabriel's songs too!:)]
Comments: Comments? Oh, comments. Nice site, guys. I'm waiting for PGMGMC.
