Hellay!
Peter Gabriel Survey
Favorite Album: PG I (aka "Sad Windshield")
Favorite Song: "Here Comes The Flood" today
Favorite Gabriel-Era Genesis Album: "Selling England by the Pound" this morning, Lamb otherwise
Least Favorite Song: "Expo-o-o-o-sure" although it's still groovy
Favorite Music Video: Um, "Shock the Monkey" (That's Epping Forest he's running thru!)
Favorite Tour: SWL, got the video for Christmas, it's changed the whole household
Favorite CD ROM: don't have one.
Best Hair Era: SO, or the SNL gig he did
Favorite Album Cover: SWL (the phone rules)
Favorite Non-Album Song: "Partyman"!
Favorite Collaboration: Kate Bush
Favorite Non-Gabriellian Artist: 'Yes', Billy Joel, Genesis (or is that cheating?)
Favorite Pastime Between Album Releases: writing music and watching great movies
Best *Idea* For a Collaboration: himself, pretending to be someone else
I Think the New Album Title Should Be... BE? UM? NI!
Comments: Time for some real Pete movies, like he
could film his Mozo thing. No one makes musical
movies anymore (for good reason, no one can get it
right), and if anyone can do it, Gabriel can!
By the way, I hope someone noticed that VH1 named "So"
#91 in the top 100 rock&roll albums of All Time Or So
(So to speak). Not very high, but it's something!

Favorite Album: So was the album I grew up on, and it strikes me as having the richest texture and cleanest sound (along with Us). I just enjoy the style of that album the most, I suppose. This is a very hard question to answer, since each album is so different stylistically. Ya can't really compare Us and the second album, y'know? Apples and oranges. I guess for sentimental reasons, I'll go with So.
Favorite Song: And I thought the previous question was hard! "In Your Eyes" has a very special place in my heart. I've been listening to "Lay Your Hands on Me" a lot lately. "Red Rain" and "A Different Drum" are fighting for my #1 spot right now too.
Favorite Gabriel-Era Genesis Album: Foxtrot (I finally bought The Lamb today, so once I finish that, maybe it'll be my favorite like everyone else.)
Least Favorite Song: "Exposure"
Favorite Music Video: "Sledgehammer" or "Shock the Monkey"
Favorite Tour: PoV
Favorite CD ROM: I only have Xplora 1, so I'm not qualified to comment.
Best Hair Era: So-era
Favorite Album Cover: So or Us
Favorite Non-Album Song: "I Grieve" or "Party Man"
Favorite Collaboration: PG w/Youssou N'Dour. I really enjoyed the performance of "Red Rain" with PG, Michael Stipe, and Natalie Merchant too.
Favorite Non-Gabriellian Artist: Sting/The Police, REM, The Beatles, U2
Favorite Pastime Between Album Releases: Checking and rechecking petergabriel.com, doing my best impression of PG while listening to him in my car.
Best *Idea* For a Collaboration: I wouldn't mind hearing PG perform with Sting (Has he ever actually sung with him?), REM, or maybe Loreena McKennitt.
I Think the New Album Title Should Be...: Up is fine, but if I gotta choose something different, I'd say In.
Comments: So was the soundtrack of my childhood, and I've grown into a full-fledged Peter Gabriel fanatic. I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but he's the single most creative and interesting person I know of, and he never ceases to amaze me. I will always consider him to be a great influence in my own life and artistic pursuits. Few artists so masterfully and powerfully delve into humanity, life, the universe, and everything and produce something so well-crafted, unique, and aesthetically pleasing. This planet is definitely better off for having him in it.

I Think the New Album Title Should Be...OT (yeah, i know that's a cheap
shot...)
Comments: i'm a newbie fan of roughly 3 wks. to date i've bought only
two albums: "us" and "so." i like to describe my, um, 'conversion'
thus: it's like the girl who fell in love w/her date's friend. i was
originally looking up max headroom on a whim and ran into peter gabriel
along the way...and i've been hooked ever since.

Favorite Album: US. Because it is about relationships and I became a fan when Secret World Live was out, but this is the original, although SWL has more vitality.
Favorite Song: It is mostly  "In your Eyes", but at the moment it is ...uhm,very difficult to choose...."Downside Up", because of Peter (and the others) singing "OVO, OVO, OOVOOH!"
Favorite Gabriel-Era Genesis Album:"Foxtrot". I think that will never change, although I love the Lamb very much and the song "Selling England by the Pound" and several others.
Least Favorite Song: I don't really know, I have some songs I don't play as often as others, like "That Voice Again", while Peter says he likes it very much..
Favorite Music Video:"Kiss that Frog"! It's great! And Peter is the Prince!  "Sledgehammer" comes second, then "Digging in the Dirt"....(I know there are more, but won't give you a whole list)
Favorite Tour:"Secret World Live." It got me to become a fan, well the video anyway, I missed the tour.
Favorite CD ROM: "EVE". Because it was like an "Axe to a frozen lake" to me, it hit me like a rock, so beautiful!
Best Hair Era: I don't mind the cueball as you mention it anymore, although I like some more, maybe an inch would do. But really, I don't mind at all, what matters is the personality. And Peter is still very attractive to me. (blush)
Favorite Album Cover: Gazing... I don't know, but I love the "US" cover very much and "OVO".
Favorite Non-Album Song: "I Grieve", because it has special meaning for me, as the sister of my husband died just before it.
Favorite Collaboration: Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan (aka Bob), Youssou N'Dour, Paula Cole.
Favorite Non-Gabriellian Artist: Afro Celt Sound System, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan,Tony Levin, right now Goldfrapp and Jocelyn Pook. Or should it be someone not related to Peter? Don't know then.
Favorite Pastime Between Album Releases: Selling World Music albums (of which of course Real World and WOMAD!) at a Worldshop, reading, making a homepage.
Best *Idea* For a Collaboration: Elizabeth Frazer. He has done that already, but should try it again for his new album. Susana Baca? She has a wonderful voice, and Peter said he would like to have more South American music at Real World....as it is not possible anymore with Nusrat.
I Think the New Album Title Should Be..."WE" because it's not Us or Them.
Comments: Gave them already above.
Oh, and Peter: "Hurry UP with that album, will you?"

Favorite Album:  US
Favorite Song: Don't give up
Favorite Gabriel-Era Genesis Album: Cinema Show

Favorite Music Video: Sledgehammer (gee, am I the only one to say this?)
Favorite Tour: Secret World
Favorite CD ROM: Xplora1
Best Hair Era: Long hippy look - Belgian TV 1972
Favorite Album Cover: US
Favorite Non-Album Song: That'll do Babe!
Favorite Collaboration: Kate Bush
Favorite Non-Gabriellian Artist: Genesis or Radiohead
Favorite Pastime Between Album Releases: Something involving Guinness and Genesis tribute bands...
Best *Idea* For a Collaboration: PG and me on bass!  Or maybe Radiohead...
I Think the New Album Title Should Be...IF   (now there's a title you can do things with!)
Comments: Apart from getting his rear into gear a little quicker, I think our hero is doing a fine job.  It would be nice to see him work with Steve Hackett again though...
