Comments: Got into Gabriel mentally after hearing So. I'm 32 this month the
20th in Fact. Went mad buying up all his records/record fairs etc got shown
round his studio by one of his engineers one summer, which was so cool. I've
even got a cheesy shot of me sitting in the main chair. This was downstairs,
not in his private one. Passion makes me cry....his absolute masterpiece. I
also met him in the credit card queue of a Brian Eno lecture called if I
remember rightly Perfume/The American defence policy and the marriage of
David Bowie & Iman. Eno really is an unrecognisable force in music of modern
day music. You all should read his diaries. I talked to him about 'Passion'
and wondered what his follow-up would be like. We kinda chatted for a minute
and I think I shook his hand. It was nice just having a chat......he's just
a guy at the end of the day, I like the music he's done, it's moved me. So I
guess you look at a person in awe just because they've moved you in some
way. It's a kind of respect thing. At the end of the day he takes a S@*t
like the rest of us.

Thanks a lot, I expect to see this posted at the top...........come on it is
my birthday on the 20th.

Favorite Album: Secret World Live is just awesome, if
I couldn't name a Live album, I'd chose Security I
guess, even though the cover is sort of... spooky?
Anyone knows what this, that, whatever is? An E.T. ?

 

Favorite Song: Hmmmm *scratches head for an hour*,
Solsbury Hill made me discover music, litterally, but
this is my "theme song" my "anthem" hehe, but right
now the song I listen to the most is "Wallflower"
which is more than extraordinary, this sentence is
just wondeful : "You have gambled with your own life,
and you face the night alone while the builders of the
cages sleep with bullets bars and stone they do not
see your road to freedom that your built with flesh
and bone" ...

 

Favorite Gabriel-Era Genesis Album: I have to admit I
listen even more to Gabriel-Era Genesis than Gabriel
solo :). I'm a progressive fan, weird because I was
born in 83, I'm going to turn 18 soon, I'm quite alone
in school who knows about Progressive music... Here
I'd have to say, Nursery Cryme? though they are all
wonderful.

 

Least Favorite Song: Well... really? ok... I've read
a previous Survey and someone was mad at everyone who
had written a Least favorite song, and he said that if
we answered this question, we had no knowledge of
music : I think this is really rude, and we all have a
song we sometimes feel like pressing "Next" I guess.
Mine is... Difficult choice, "Don't Give Up"

 

Favorite Music Video : Digging in the dirt is awesome,
all this stuff growing fast, or rotting fast, or
"unrotting", makes you feel like Time is something
very relative. I like the song too, especially when
mister G starts singing "Digging in the dirt, stay
with me I need support..."

 

Favorite Tour : I've not seen much here, POV and
Secret World only, I'd have to re-listen to POV but
right now it's Secret World, the ending is... well it
is. (enough said)

 

Favorite CD ROM : Can't find them! I don't trust the
internet very much for money thing yet... Though I'd
trust Peter very much :o)

 

Best Hair Era : Just before he shaves his head in the
inverted Mohawk, he was with Genesis and he had these
wondeful long wavy brown hair, cute pictures in the
Genesis Archives 67-75 booklet!

 

Favorite Album Cover : Car, PG 1, I love blue, well
it's bluish Green? I like the mood of it, rain and
all...

 

Favorite Non-Album Song : When You're Falling! It's a
Non-Album song right? :o)

 

Favorite Collaboration : Paula Cole was the best voice
I could imagine for him in Secret World Live
(Remember, I discovered music when I was 13 in mid 90s
with this album)

 

Favorite Non-Gabriellian Artist : Genesis first,then
Steve Hackett, Yes, Gentle Giant, Alan Parsons
Project, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Kansas and all the
Progressive Folks from mainly the 70s hehe, even for
Genesis, after 80-81... Less interesting for me, but
still... Boy these guys can still make cool
Progressive Rock sometimes.

 

Favorite Pastime Between Album Releases : Listening to
music, wasting time on a computer, reading, riding a
bike...

 

Best *Idea* For a Collaboration : Peter, you have to
make another "Milton Keynes", we should have a little
tour with Genesis again? At least once in your
life... Look, when you turn like 55 you'll have
nostlagia and I bet you will do it, you will huh? ;o)

the right one, you can make a lot of stuff around the
"up" theme!

Comments:    As stated above, this is my second time "taking" this survey.  I found my mind kept going back to see if I could answer the questions any more clearly (why does that matter? it just does...).       From the very first listen in 1973 I have loved this man's brain as glimpsed through his music.   Please, PG, don't give up!  Keep sharing with us!   It's been an interesting journey so far, and we still  have a long way to go. . .

Comments: I love Genesis and all the members since I was 12 (I´m 30 now), that´s why I became translator and interpreter. I like everything Peter made with and without Genesis. For me, Peter is simply a genius !

About his songs, one that I like a lot is "Home Sweet Home"- the lyrics looks like a movie screenplay !
