Gabriel's Tahini and Soy Dip

We Here at the Hill, in the name of good intra-homepage relations, came across Todd Chapin's Peter Gabriel homepage [now non-existantEd.]. In it was a brief article by Q magazine, which Chapin added something he found in a TV guide. We're including it here because it proves that PG interests go far beyond that of just music, and it also proves that he doesn't take himself too seriously. Here it is:

About a year ago, a friend produced the weekly TV listings guide and flipped it open to the celeb recipes and I fell around laughing because there was Peter smiling out the page with his favourite recipe for Tahini and Soy dip listed below. For those, that want it - here goes ..... quote

Peter's simple and fast recipe combines tahini paste with dark soy sauce to come up with a delicious savoury dip. Well worth crooning for! Peter Gabriel says this is his favourite appetiser or snack, and it has to be the most simple dip ever. Tahini is seasame seed paste, and is available in supermarkets. Serves 6
4 tbsp tahini paste
4 tbsp water (or more)
good dash of soy sauce, to taste
chives
These proportions are just a guide - you can change them depending on your taste.Spoon the tahini into a bowl. Gradually add cold water, stirring it in drip by drip. The mixture will look very thick and appear to curdle, but carry on stirring until the paste turns pale and creamy smooth. Add soy sauce to taste and stir in the snipped chives. Serve garnished with chives. Delicious served with crudites or crackers.

We here at the Hill haven't tasted this dip yet, but we will say one thing...that stuff sure does stick to the ceiling!

Note: Later on, we actually did get to taste this stuff. At first we weren't crazy about it (well, the stuff had been on the ceiling for quite some time, so we weren't expecting much), but then we found that it kinda grows on ya.

Okay, this stuff is awful.

It's not that it's a bad dip, it's just that it makes a better book paste.

BTW...You need crackers to go with the tahini and soy dip?
