Web Comics

Sluggy Freelance--One of the most popular web-exclusive comics, and for good reason. The 'toon is accessible enough, but the series has a complex tangle of various story arcs, with minor characters coming back time and again to become key players in the Sluggyverse. It should get confusing, but it doesn't. The numerous holiday story arcs are a must-read, and even the "off-weeks" when the cartoonist draws the characters as stick-figures, does a single-panel series, or lets the reader choose the punchline, it's alway worth reading. Just don't do what we did and read a years' worth of strips while wondering, "When are we going to meet Sluggy?" Favorite story arcs: Torg's Black Heart, A Sluggy Mummy Christmas, Muffin the Vampire Baker, Kiki's Virus, an On the Run.

SevTrek--An Australian cartoonist created a series of strips to parody all variants of the Star Trek franchise (with Enterprise to be forthcoming.) A contest is held each week for fans known as Sevillians to pick the punchline. You must browse through the finalist punchlines...oftentimes the funniest punchlines aren't actually used in the strip. Check it out!

RealLife--Okay, this one made this list because the cartoonist did a week of Myst related strips, and in another minor series called The Forge, there's a reference to D'Ni script and a cameo by Atrus.
